If you check around, just having a diagnostics done on your transmission can cost between $49.00 to over $100. If you were unlucky enough to have to have your vehicle towed, well add another $65 or so. It adds up quickly. By the way, we offer FREE TOWING with major transmission repairs.
Look, I’ve been working on cars most of my life and for the most part, when you take care of your car, in makes a difference, especially in your pocketbook!
Here are some helpful hints to take care of your transmission so you don’t have to visit me, but if you need transmission repair services, I sure hope you’ll consider me.
1 Here’s the easiest step I strongly recommend, get your transmission serviced once every two years or about 30,000 miles or so. We’ll change your transmission fluid for you, check the gaskets for leaks and give it an overall good inspection.
2 For Pete’s sake, check your transmission fluid regularly. Weekly is great as you’ll catch leaks quickly that way. Just get in the habit of checking your transmission fluid when you check your oil.
3 When you check the fluid, make sure it doesn’t smell burnt or look milky or different than it normally does.
4 If you notice your transmission fluid level dropping, call me immediately for an appointment. You do not want to drive your vehicle with low transmission fluid as all kinds of bad things can happen, especially to your wallet!
